Inclusion Criteria:
Primary care patients; adult (>/= 18 years); self-reported Latino ethnicity; ability to speak Spanish (Spanish-only or bilingual); BMI >/=24; pre-diabetes; history of gestational diabetes; 3 of 5 elements of the metabolic syndrome but without type 1 or type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
Exclusion Criteria:
Significant psychiatric or medical comorbidities (eg, bipolar disorder, active cancer); pregnancy; planned relocation during the follow-up period
Research Purpose:
To determine whether a culturally adapted behavioral intervention for Latino primary care patients was more effective than usual care for weight loss over 24 months
