Inclusion Criteria:
Patients with hypertension, as defined by the World Health Organisation (SBP >160mmHg or DBP >95mm Hg) and had originally presented to the clinic with retinal vein occlusion.
Exclusion Criteria:
Patients with evidence of diabetes mellitus, nephropathy, cardiac failure, or pregnancy.
Research Purpose:
To examine the effects of a combined dietary approach on BP in essential hypertensive patiens whilst drug therapy remained unchanged.
