Inclusion Criteria:
Untreated hypertensive subjects fulfilling set criteria, and with a mean diastolic pressure greater than 90 mmHg and less than 100 mmHg.
Exclusion Criteria:
Subjects were excluded if they were receiving treatment for hypertension. cardiovascular disease, ischaemic disease or any major complications of hypertension.
Research Purpose:
To determine: Does a moderate reduction in sodium intake cause a fall in blood pressure? Does a moderate increase in potassium intake cause a fall in blood pressure?
