Inclusion Criteria:
Apart from treatment of hypertension, the inclusion criteria were male, aged 50-72 years of age, and one or more of the following: serum cholesterol > 6.5 mmol/L (mean of two values measured before inclusion in the study, during the preceding year); tobacco smoking (> 1 cigarette per day); or diabetes mellitus.
Exclusion Criteria:
The exclusion criteria were unwillingness to participate or serious, non-cardiovascular disease.
Research Purpose:
To examine the effect on quality of life in hypertensive men of a multiple risk factor intervention program compared with that of usual care.
