18-65 years old; BMI between 25.0 and 39.9; pPreviously sedentary
Exclusion Criteria:
History of CVD; history of type 1 or 2 diabetes; use of medications that could affect study outcome; unstable weight for 3 months prior to the beginning of the study (>4kg weight loss or gain); perimenopause or otherwise irregular menstrual cycle; pregnancy; currently smoking
Research Purpose:
To compare the effects of alternate day fasting vs daily calorie restriction on weight loss, weight maintenance, and risk indicators for cardiovascular disease.
