Inclusion Criteria:
Patients awaiting elective general surgery with a BMI >/=30 kg/m2 and aged over 18 years.
Exclusion Criteria:
Pregnant, preparing/undergoing IVF, intellectually or mentally impaired, had liver failure, portal hypertension, acute cardiovascular disease or type 1 diabetes.
Research Purpose:
To evaluate the feasibility of implementing a very low calorie diet (VLCD) weight loss program into the pre-operative model of care for elective general surgery patients with obesity.
