Aged 18–65 years and needed to exhibit at least one of the following CVD risk factors; excess weight (BMI of 28 or more, based on a value used in the recruiting GP practice), hypertension (SBP/DBP at least 150/90 mmHg), or hypercholesterolemia (at least 5.2 mmol.l).
