Inclusion Criteria:
The included studies had healthy adults who did not have diabetes, hypertension or vascular disease and were not on lipid or glucose lowering medication.
Exclusion Criteria:
Studies were excluded if they included any other intervention or they were commentaries, reviews, were not in English, or were duplicate publications from the same study.
Research Purpose:
This meta-analysis was therefore undertaken to more reliably evaluate effects of a vegan diet on different cardiometabolic risk factors, and to determine whether associations are consistent across diverse populations, and over time.
