Exclusion Criteria:
BMI>27kg/m2, resident for less than six months, known wasting disease, eg. cancer thyrotoxicosis etc, hospital admission or attendance in hospital accident & emergency department in the past month, diabetes mellitus requiring regular medication, those who refused to drink milk regularly, and those who took milk or oral supplement more than once daily.
Research Purpose:
Examine the effect of a low lactose high calcium milk powder on the nutritional intake and nutritional status of nursing home residents. Secondary aim was to determine it's tolerability among the residents.
