Inclusion Criteria:
Individuals were 70 years of age or older, speak and understand Danish, expected length of stay greater than 3 days and an independent stand function of greater than 30 seconds.
Exclusion Criteria:
Individuals were excluded if they had active cancer or terminal disease, renal insufficiency, cognitive impairment, enteral or parenteral nutrition only, milk/lactose allergy/intolerance, plan of losing weight or special diet, and if they have a pacemaker.
Research Purpose:
The aim of the present study was to investigate whether protein supplementation (PrS) has any additional effects in a population of Danish geriatric medical patients engaged in resistance training (RT) during hospitalisation and 12 weeks after discharge, on parameters of muscle strength, muscle mass and physical and mental function.
