Inclusion Criteria:
Patients aged 18-64 who underwent HLA-identical sibling Allo-SCT after myeloablative conditioning regimen
Exclusion Criteria:
Patients undergoing Allo-SCT for benign diseases, solid tumors or lymphomas; patients with renal failure, cirrhosis, congestive
heart failure, nephrotic syndrome or other diseases that interfered with the absorption and flux of water and solutes
Research Purpose:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of glutamine-enriched parenteral nutrition compared to standard parenteral nutrition on clinical outcomes and intestinal permeability after myeloablative Allo-SCT.
Blinding efforts:
Randomization was conducted by the pharmacist in charge of preparing the PN. Patients and the transplant team were blinded for the assigned arm. PN solutions were not identified for glutamine supplementation.
