Nursing home residents aged 65 and older; could be weighed; were non-terminal; were non-hospitalized; living in one of seven nursing homes in Denmark

Research Purpose:
To test the hypothesis that a multifaceted 11 weeks randomized controlled intervention would have a significant influence of functional abilities in old nursing home residents.
Blinding efforts:
The outcome assessors (two clinical nurses and one physiotherapist) were blinded to the randomization method used and the treatment allocation. However, it was not possible to blind the clinical dietician.
