This EBNPG does not address pediatric individuals with eating disorders as primary diagnoses and adult clients with type 1 diabetes.

Guideline Objective(s)

To provide guidance for registered dietitian nutritionists providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for children and adolescents living with type 1 diabetes.

Specific Objectives 

  • To provide evidence-based, specific, action statements regarding nutrition interventions for children and adolescents living with T1DM.

Target Population

Children and adolescents (ages 6 to 18 years) living with T1DM.

Interventions and Practices Considered
