In adults with or without cardiovascular disease, what is the association between the amount of saturated fat intake and blood lipids?
In adults with or without cardiovascular disease, reduction of saturated fat intake will likely reduce total and LDL cholesterol. Reduction of saturated fat intake may not have an effect on HDL cholesterol or triglycerides.
Grade: Moderate (B)
- Grade I means there is Good/Strong evidence supporting the statement;
- Grade II is Fair;
- Grade III is Limited/Weak;
- Grade IV is Expert Opinion Only;
- Grade V is Not Assignable.
